New Year, New Posts, New Style

I want to take a moment to thank all of you who, despite my prolonged absence, stuck with my blog and kept your subscription to my feed. I really appreciate your ongoing support and I hope you find many more fascinating articles to come.

Now that the new year’s come and my coursework is finished, I have a lot more time to devote to the blog, so expect some big changes in the near future. The first change you’ll notice is that all reviews will now have a standard format. No more of the “whatever I feel like including” style of my previous reviews. While that was certainly the easiest way to write a review, it makes it terribly difficult to compare one program to the next, and a standard format should help that.

Also coming soon, I’m going to start branching out a bit. You’ve already seen reviews, news posts, and a few other random bits here and there, but it’s high time for some new categories. Possibly a weekend gaming post, a quarterly revisits to programs I’ve reviewed in the past, and more best of lists and operating system related posts will be coming your way. And how could I forget battle posts where two previously reviews programs of the same type will go head to head to determine which program is better for which purpose.

But that’s not all. I’ve been thinking that my theme, which I love, may be a little slow loading for some of you. There’s quite a bit of JavaScript in this thing, which makes it look cool, but may put too much strain on visitors’ computers. So I’ve decided to start the search for a new theme. If you’ve got an idea or you’ve made your own theme, please send it to me and I’d love to check it out.

There you have it, a taste of my blog resolutions for the new year.
