Is it Better than GMail? Certainly Looks that Way.
If you’ve read my review of GMail, you know that I totally love Google’s webmail platform. However, Yahoo! announced a slew of new features for Yahoo! Mail - features that may just make it the webmail to use. The big new bonus is that anyone can send text messages to cell phones completely free of charge - something that no other email service provides (yet). It only works in the United States, Canada, India and the Philippines so far - but expect Yahoo! to add support to more countries in the near future.
The other cool new feature allows Yahoo! Mail users to send instant messages to friends using Yahoo! Messenger and Windows Live Messenger right from within the webmail interface.
Yahoo’s webmail service is not just getting boosts in ways to connect with people more quickly, but it’s getting a face lift too. New color schemes are now available for a bit of customization of the user interface.
