Is Your Hardware Linux Compatible?

Perhaps the most major issue that had prevented me from doing a full switch to Linux a year or two ago was that quite a few pieces of hardware simply weren’t compatible with the alternative operating system.  However, thanks to big gains in popularity, more and more drivers have come out of the gates - drivers that support just about any piece of hardware a Linux junkie could want.

But, there are still problems with the compatibility of some drivers.  ATI/AMD, I’m looking in your direction.  And a big, comprehensive list of all of the hardware that can work with Linux would be a godsend.  Believe it or not, a list was just made public today, courtesy of Linux.com.

For your pleasure, they’ve assembled a massive list of all of the different sites you can visit to see if your hardware is compatible with the Linux distro you are considering.  Be sure to check out this wonderful tool for yourself if you are considering giving Linux a go for the first time.
