Microsoft Works 9 for Free?

Ugh. Apparently Microsoft is planning to do a trial run of Microsoft Works 9 for free. One part of me is amazed that such a piece of crap product wasn’t free earlier while another part of me is dreading the possibility of one of the worst office programs becoming free for the masses. Luckily enough, it may not be free for awhile, as Microsoft is talking about a pilot period for an ad supported version of Works. For all of our sakes, I can only hope that the free version of Works 9 never makes it out of that pilot period.

If you are even the slightest bit tempted to get on board the ad supported Works bandwagon - please do yourself a favor and download Open Office or visit Google Docs & Spreadsheets instead.
