Mac’s are Cheaper After All

Well, it turns out that someone has published an article on something I’ve had a hunch about since I first purchased my MacBook. Mac’s are cheaper than Windows computers. While the author lists a few consumer reasons why Apple’s computers are less expensive in the long term, she unfortunately focuses on the business arena. However, by doing so she misses one key difference between the Windows environment and the OSX environment - the amount of quality free software for Apple’s operating system. There are so many wonderful programs available free of charge for OSX that I almost don’t know what to do with them all. Compared to the relative void of good quality freeware for Windows, it is easy to see how a regular home user can get a lot out of his Mac.
